Hillbillies just don’t get enough credit. Oh sure, maybe the first thing that comes to mind is banjos and drinking beer in the woods. However, when it comes to home renovations, it’s another story! Reddit user, TheAccidentOf85, had a very challenging backyard. But he transformed it into something worth toasting moonshine to. Have a look and see how his “Hillbilly Backyard” (as it was jokingly called) transformed into a thing a beauty.
To get an idea of just how challenging this project was, here are a few pictures of the beginning terrain.
It doesn’t get much more uneven than that.
Preparation is everything.
After completing some rather significant piping projects, the border and top layer of dirt was applied.
Step by step.
That’s turning out to be quite a wall.
The wall was elevated to leave some room above the top layer of dirt.
Rock was laid down, because even hillbillies know that playing in the mud has its limits.
Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a snazzy fire pit for those nights of “pickin’ and grinnin’.”
Just when I was getting impressed, out comes the heavy tile. I like this guy!
Look at that yard now! It took 2.5 months and working on weekends. However, he saved $15,000 by doing it himself.
Here’s to many moon-lit, backyard barbecues and banjo licks to come! YEEHAW!
