Here’s what you need to know:
Who we’re looking to publish: Real estate professionals (agents, LOs, home stagers, title reps, appraisers, attorneys, etc.), as well as real estate vendors, trainers, and authority figures. Basically, anyone who can command authority of the topic and offer entertainment or other value to our audience.
Bio and promotion: Since we don’t compensate contributors for articles, we’re more than happy to include a byline and your brief bio containing links to your website and/or social media profiles, which we will promote when your post goes live. Please keep your bio to just 2-3 sentences.
Word count: No minimums but posts typically run between 500 and 1,500 words. Please stay under 1,500 words.
Tone: This depends on the type of article. Humor articles should be fun,conversational, not stiff or stuffy by any means. Marketing or technology articles should be fresh and original, highly beneficial, with the reader in mind. But ultimately tone is a reflection of you. Just be yourself.
Original Content: We’re looking for unique and original submissions for the Lighter Side of Real Estate. We won’t accept articles that have already been published or submitted elsewhere online (not even on your personal blog) or that you plan to distribute to other websites.
What does well? We love articles that entertain and/or inspire our readers. While there aren’t strict guidelines, we find that stories and editorials that stem from practical real estate experiences do well. Giving an inside look at what it’s like being a real estate professional always do well. Advice pieces typically provide tips to improve various areas of business.
