A house shaped suspiciously like the male sex organ is up for sale for around $853,000. The home, officially named “Sherwin House” but called “Buckingham Phallus” by cheeky journalists and “Penis House” by neighbors, was erected in 1958 by acclaimed Aussie architect Stan Symonds, News.com.au reports.
Agent Phil Vanstone, of LJ Hooker Mona Vale is the listing agent. He describes it as a “unique and very private, architecturally designed residence set on 1,204 square meters (3,950 square feet) with a tranquil bushland backdrop.” To grab it, you’ll need to cough up in excess of $1.1 million, be a fan of modernist architecture and have a sense of humor.
Inside, the four-bedroom house looks like a series of circles. It’s only from these blueprints that you can see the whole package.
The curvature of the home has remained the same since it was built in 1958.
Maybe the living room doubles as a ballroom?
The property has sandstone features, timber kitchen and this spacious outdoor entertaining area with an in-ground pool.
Agent Phil Vanstone believes the suggestive floorplan was intentional.
What better way to relax and enjoy a nice meal than on the balcony. Meatballs, anyone?
After a long day, you can make your way down the long hallway…
…into the master bedroom, where you can catch some z’s and wake with a spring in your step!
