There’s A House In Kentucky That Looks Like A Goose
Nestled at the end of Main Street in Hazard, Kentucky sits one of the most unique and absolutely fowl homes in the country. The ‘Mother Goose House’, built from 1935-1940, was the brainchild of local business owner George Stacey.
One night after Thanksgiving dinner, George took the skeleton of the goose they’d cooked that year, to a local architect with a plan. He wanted a piece of unique, gimmick, architecture that would draw customers to his local gas station and general goods store. Now in the hands of Alice McIntosh, the three bedroom, one bath home still attracts tourists year round wanting to see the home that is straight out of a fairy tale.
