Potato, potahto, tomato, tomahto—just a couple of examples of words that people have different ways of pronouncing. It’s not like anyone won’t know what you’re talking about if you say either variation, but it might hurt their ears to hear it said differently than they pronounce it.
“REALTOR®” is another one of those words that people pronounce differently. There’s definitely a correct way to pronounce it, but so many people say it wrong so often (including plenty of real estate agents, ahem!), it’s hard to even know if you’re saying it the right way or not!
It might make them cringe a little if you add an “uh” in between “real” and “tor”, but honestly, agents don’t actually care how you say it…as long as you call them whenever you or anyone you know needs to buy or sell a house!
