The life of a real estate agent isn’t as glamorous as it might seem. In fact, behind the glossy headshots and luxury SUVs, there’s a whole lot of stress and hard work that people who aren’t in the business never get a chance to see (which is probably best for everyone).

But if you really want a glimpse into the life of a real estate agent, it’s helpful to find a suitable analogy. And what could be more apropos than one of the most exciting but stressful movie experiences of the last fifty years: Jurassic Park. So let’s climb into the modified Ford Explorer and take a tour through a day in the life of a real estate agent…as told by Jurassic Park.

6:30 am: Wake up to the phone alarm blaring into your ear

7:00 am: Spend a few minutes laughing at the Lighter Side of Real Estate memes

8:45 am: Patiently listen to a client while they explain that they’ve outgrown their current house

12:40 pm: Try to sneak in a quick lunch only to be interrupted by a constantly-vibrating phone

1:35 pm: Bring a buyer to an open house and realize the home looks nothing like it did in the pictures

2:20 pm: Announce yourself and check to make sure nobody is home before just walking into a listing you’re showing

4:45 pm: Practice some breathing exercises you learned that are supposed to help reduce stress

6:25 pm: Help your client manage three very aggressive offers on their listing

8:01 pm: Finally figure out how to use the new signing software the broker wants you to use

10:00 pm: Take a few minutes to relax and unwind before bed, ready to do it all over again the next day
