6 Rarely Considered Things You Should Know Before Becoming A Real Estate Agent
If you’re thinking about becoming a real estate agent, you’re probably aware that you don’t make a dime until (and unless) you sell a house.
Many people have become quite angry (and vocal!) about how tipping has gotten out of control. It’s become almost a given that you have to decline giving a tip, even when someone does something as simple as take your order at a fast-food restaurant. It seems like everyone wants a tip nowadays…
So you can probably imagine how people reacted when they saw this video giving reasons why you should tip your landlord! People went nuts in the comment section, whether they were a renter or not.
Fortunately, that was one of many parody videos of people suggesting that landlords deserve to be tipped.
But, just for some fun, here’s a list of 6 things that could possibly, maybe, sorta, kinda make a tenant want to give their landlord a tip:
It’s hard enough to find a landlord who even allows you to have a dog. So if your landlord swung by your place every day out of the goodness of their heart and took your pooch for a stroll, perhaps that might make you want to slip them a few extra bucks when you pay your rent.
Some landlords barely maintain their properties when things are broken, but that doesn’t mean you should feel the urge to give your landlord a tip if they do the basics like repairing a leaky faucet. They should do that! But if your landlord were to come over and clean your entire place once a week, you gotta admit that might be worth a few shekels!
There are certainly some people who even balk at tipping the people who deliver food right to their door, but most people would agree that tipping your Uber Eats delivery driver is the right thing to do. So, if your landlord is doing some DoorDash runs to pick up a few extra bucks, of course you’d tip your landlord in that scenario!
Not that it’s likely, but if your landlord were to call you and say they just wanted to be nice and give you a free month, sending them a $25 Venmo payment would be a nice gesture!
Tenants are lucky enough if their landlord just keeps the rent the same when it comes time to renew their lease, rather than increase it by a percentage. But if your landlord actually reduced yours, you might feel like throwing them a few of those dollars you’re saving.
There’s nothing that feels better for a renter than finally buying their own place and telling their landlord they’ll no longer be paying them rent. Or is there…? Um, yeah, if your landlord helped you pack up all your stuff, load it onto the trucks, and then move it all into your new place! That would definitely warrant tipping your landlord. (And don’t try to cheap out and tip them with cheap beer and a few slices of pizza…)
